Your day begins with a convenient hotel pickup from Cairo or Giza, where you’ll meet your expert guide and set off on an immersive orientation tour of Egypt’s vibrant capital. The first stop is the historic Saladin Citadel, majestically perched on the Moqattam Hills. Built in 1183 AD as a strategic fortress against Crusader attacks, the Citadel offers panoramic views over Cairo and houses several remarkable monuments. Inside, you will visit the stunning Mosque of Muhammad Ali Pasha, an architectural masterpiece designed by Turkish architect Yousif Boushnaq. Its alabaster walls and Ottoman-style domes create a striking contrast against the city’s sandstone skyline.
Next, continue to the legendary Khan El Khalili Bazaar, one of the Middle East’s oldest and most famous markets. Wander through its winding alleys filled with colorful stalls, traditional crafts, spices, jewelry, and souvenirs, while soaking in the lively atmosphere that has defined Cairo’s trade since the 14th century.
The tour then moves to Old Cairo, a center of early Christian history. Visit the Hanging Church, Ben Ezra Synagogue, Church of St. Barbara, and the ancient Abu Serga Church, believed to have sheltered the Holy Family. After the tour, you’ll be comfortably transferred back to your hotel.
